Decision Theory and Methodology - Management Decision-Making Training

Training duration: Self-paced (approx. 6 hours)
Level: Intermediate–Advanced / Management knowledge
Target group: Managers, senior professionals and decision-makers at all organisational levels

This course equips you with a structured approach to making better decisions, at every level of an organisation.

You'll work through the key stages of the decision-making process, learn how to evaluate strategic alternatives, and practise proven techniques including decision trees, the weighting method, Ishikawa analysis, and Pareto.

You'll also explore how information systems, business intelligence, and AI support - and sometimes complicate - the decisions we face today.

By the end of the training, participants will:

  • Understand the stages of the decision-making process and the factors that influence the quality of decisions.

  • Be able to apply key decision-support techniques - including decision trees, the EMV method, and the weighting method - to real management situations.

  • Recognise the role and limitations of information systems, business intelligence, and AI in supporting - but not replacing - managerial judgement.
